In fact, Chery South Africa, put the theoretical fuel range of 1200km for the Chery Tiggo 7 CSH PHEV to the test recently in a long-distance real-world endurance test and achieved an incredible, combined range, of 1290km!

Hybrid Power – The Best of Both Worlds
Powering the new Chery Tiggo 7 CSH is a new 1.5TGDI hybrid engine with 115 kW of maximum power and 220 Nm of torque, paired with a battery and electric motor for a combined output of 265 kW and 530 Nm of torque, whilst sipping fuel at an average fuel consumption of just 4.9 l/100km. For urban commuting, the hybrid battery offers over 90 km of electric only range – more than sufficient for most daily driving needs.
Power is sent to the wheels via Chery’s stepless Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) which boasts a mechanical efficiency of up to 98% and provides seamless, smooth delivery of the dual-motor system.
Not to be outdone by it’s impressive sibling, the new Chery Tiggo Cross HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre engine developing 71 kW and 118 N.m of torque. Combined with a 1.83 kWh battery and electric motor, an impressive total power output of 150 kW and 310 N.m of torque is achieved. Similarly to the Tiggo 7 CSH this power is sent to the front wheels via the Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) for effortless acceleration and highway overtaking, whilst averaging just 5.4 l/100km average fuel consumption!
Step Into a World of Quality, Comfort and Advanced Technology
Available in Plus and Ultra trim levels, the Tiggo 7 CSH boasts 18-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights with the range-topping Ultra model further adds front fog lamps, a panoramic sunroof, and a power-operated tailgate.
Standard on both models is leather upholstery, six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, and push-button engine start/stop. The range-topping Chery Tiggo 7 Ultra variant builds on this with driver’s seat memory function, and seat heating and ventilation (the latter for passenger seat too) – perfect cold winter mornings or midsummer heatwaves.
Both Plus and Ultra models feature dual 12.3-inch displays – for the digital instrument cluster and central touchscreen. Of course, all connectivity and comfort features are accounted for, such as Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports for both front and rear passengers, an additional front USB-C port, plus a 50-watt wireless charging pad. Intelligent Voice Command is also included.
Available in Comfort and Elite trim levels the Chery Tiggo Cross CSH also features automatic LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, along with a sporty tailgate spoiler, chrome-plated dual exhaust tips. The Elite variant adds red brake callipers and an electric sunroof.
Step inside the Tiggo Cross CSH and you are welcomed with a soft-touch dashboard and complementary black leather upholstery (including the multi-function steering wheel on Elite trim). Ambient lighting is standard across both models – Elite adding further luxuries such as a six-way power-adjustable, heated driver’s seat and electric lumbar support. Both models boast automatic wipers and two-zone automatic climate control.

The Tiggo Cross CSH features the latest safety technology including traction control, Emergency Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control, Brake Assist, and dual front, front side, and side curtain airbags. The Elite variant adds a front inter-seat airbag to the safety suite.
